For a Successful Visit,
- Supervise your group at all times.
- Be prepared to collect and take home all trash.
- Visit animals in the pastures after the programs. Children must be supervised.
- Close ALL gates and stall doors behind you to prevent animals from escaping, whether you are going in or out.
- Chasing the animals is not permitted.

Explore The Farm – A Self-Guided Experience (formerly Hands on the Farm)
- Explore the farm on your own and at your own pace.
- Visit the farm animals in our historic barns.
- Walk through the woods, hayfields, and pastures.
- Observe what is growing in our gardens.
- Visit the Century House – an 1800's era farmhouse.
- Have fun on our tractors in the play area.
- Bring your lunch or snack to enjoy in our covered picnic shelter.
- Education staff available for questions as you explore the farm on your own.
- Cost: $5 per person. Complimentary Teacher Admission
Discover Our Natural World (formerly Hands on the Environment) (Education Staff Guided)
Offered for two age levels:
Wiggle, Buzz & Moo--for PreK – 2nd grade. Young learners will experience three hands-on stations:
- Worms – dig for these "garden wigglers" and discover their importance to the soil we use for growing our food.
- Bees – spend a day in the life of the hive by gathering nectar like a honeybee and playing the "Flower, Flower, Bee" game.
- Animals – visit our farm animals and learn about their role in the environment.
- Cost: $7 per person. Complimentary Teacher Admission.
Explore the Environment – 3rd – 6th grade. A more in-depth exploration of our natural world at three hands-on learning stations:
- Bees – discover the life and work of a honeybee by role-playing and fun facts.
- Soil and Water – dig to discover what lives below the surface. Soil, decomposition, and our impact on the environment will be explored.
- Animals – visit our farm animals and learn about their role in the environment.
- Cost: $7 per person. Complimentary Teacher Admission.

Farm Fun & Fitness (Education Staff Guided)
- Learn that being healthy can be fun by playing old-fashioned relay games.
- Run a farm-themed obstacle course.
- Hike in the woods and run through our hayfields.
- Taste fresh vegetables growing in our garden.
- Visit the farm animals in our historic barns.
- Tour the Century House – an 1800's era farmhouse.
- Cost: $7 per person. Complimentary Teacher Admission.
Spring on the Farm (Education Staff Guided)
- Discover new life on the farm: enjoy petting the lambs, kids, piglets, chicks and more.
- See what is sprouting in our gardens – taste a variety of spring vegetables.
- Plant a spring flower to take home and watch it grow.
- Hike in the woods and fields to discover how spring changes the landscape.
- Visit the Century House – an 1800's era farmhouse.
- Bring your lunch or snack to enjoy in our covered picnic shelter.

Summer Farm Adventures (Education Staff Guided)
- Discover how busy the farm can be during the warm summer months.
- Play old-fashioned relay games and run a farm-themed obstacle course.
- Taste fresh vegetables growing in our garden.
- Follow the hiking trails through our woods and find your way through our hayfields.
- Make a craft to take home using materials from the farm.
- Visit the farm animals in our historic barns.

Autumn on the Farm (Education Staff Guided)
- It's pumpkin time on the farm – play our "Pumpkin Scramble" game and find your own pumpkin.
- Walk in the woods and hayfields to discover all the changes fall brings.
- Tour the garden to see and taste a variety of fall vegetables.
- Explore our barns and observe how our animals are preparing for winter
- Visit the Century House – an 1800's era farmhouse.
- Bring your lunch or snack to enjoy in our covered picnic shelter.

Inside the Garden Box (Education Staff Guided)
- Young learners (PreK – 2nd grade) explore our garden to taste, smell and touch the vegetables as they are growing.
- Enjoy a "growing" story in our Bank Barn prior to your garden visit.
- Visit the farm animals in our historic barns.
- Take a hike in the woods and hayfields.
- Visit the Century House – an 1800's era farmhouse.
- Have fun on our tractors in the play area.

The Ohio Pioneer Experience (formerly Hands on the Past and Native American & Pioneers) (Education Staff Guided)
- Live the history of Ohio farm life during the 1800's for students in grades 2-6.
- Gather in the 1829 Bank Barn to hear the story of a pioneer family's journey to Ohio and their daily life.
- Work with our costumed staff at multiple stations around the farm using authentic 19th century tools including corn shellers, wheat grinders, and washtubs.
- Discover Ohio's Native American influence by planting "The Three Sisters" in our garden and grinding corn.
- Hike through our woods to find common Native American symbols and play a traditional hunting game in our fields.
- Experience pioneer children's work and play by making butter and running an old-fashioned race game.
- Visit the farm animals in our historic barns.
- Tour the Century House – an 1800's era farmhouse.
- Bring your lunch or snack to enjoy in our covered picnic shelter.
- Cost: $8 per person. Complimentary Teacher Admission.
Finding Freedom on the Farm: The Underground Railroad (Education Staff Guided)
- Experience a living history of The Underground Railroad for students in grades 3 – 6.
- Understand Ohio's role in this intriguing chapter of American history.
- Gather in the 1829 Bank Barn to hear Harriet Tubman's dramatic presentation of her story of freedom and courage.
- Become part of the story by learning the code words, signs, and phrases that signaled safety along the escaping slave's journey.
- Visit our 1800's era farmhouse to discover how these "safe houses" were essential to The Underground Railroad.
- Follow a "conductor" on an escape to freedom by following quilt symbols through our woods and fields.
- Relive the true journey of Addison White – an escaped slave who settled in Mechanicsburg, Ohio – through story and song.
- Bring your lunch or snack to enjoy in our covered picnic shelter at the conclusion of our program.
- Cost: $8 per person. Complimentary Teacher Admission.
- Program starts promptly at 9:30 am.
- Minimum of 80 participants. Groups can be combined.
Sheep Shearing
- Watch our woolly flock go from shaggy to shorn.
- Learn about how the harvested wool becomes yarn before being woven or knitted into cloth or cozy garments.
- Touch and feel the shorn wool.
- Pet the baby lambs and watch a sheep herding demonstration.
- Hike in the woods and fields to discover how spring changes the landscape
- Bring your lunch or snack to enjoy in our covered picnic shelter.
- Cost: $7 per person. Complimentary Teacher Admission.
- Scheduled for April 25, 2012. Begins at 10 am.
